Ad-hoc Presiding Officer for INEC Recruitment - Full Time

Overview

Responsibilities

• Oversee the efficient conduct of voting at designated polling units
• Supervise Assistant Presiding Officers, Polling Clerks, and other temporary election staff
• Ensure proper voter accreditation using the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS)
• Manage the voting procedure, ballot distribution, and vote counting
• Complete and submit all election result forms accurately and promptly
• Maintain order, security, and impartiality at the polling station
• Handle and resolve minor issues or complaints in a professional manner
• Safeguard election materials and ensure proper handover of results
• Uphold INEC guidelines, electoral laws, and the code of conduct at all times

Requirements

• Must be a Nigerian citizen with valid identification
• Minimum educational qualification: Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSCE) or its equivalent; higher qualifications such as OND, HND, or Degree are preferred
• Must be aged between 18 and 60 years
• Must reside in the Local Government Area or State where applying
• Must possess good character and have no criminal record
• Must be physically and mentally fit to work long hours during the election period
• Willingness to work at any assigned polling unit and undergo necessary training
• Previous experience in election duties or public service is an added advantage
• Preferred Skills: Strong sense of integrity, neutrality, and commitment to fairness
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work under pressure and collaboratively in a team
• Basic computer literacy is an advantage, especially for BVAS operations
