The AC Technician is responsible for the efficient operation, maintenance, and servicing of all air-conditioning and ventilation systems associated with the 6000 TCD milling section.
Requirements
National Diploma (ND) or Technical Trade Test (TT II or TT I) in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
Certification in HVAC systems maintenance and troubleshooting will be an added advantage.
Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in installation, operation, and maintenance of industrial or commercial air-conditioning systems (split units, package units, and chillers).

Responsibilities
The role ensures reliable system performance, optimal cooling efficiency, and strict adherence to safety standards, operational procedures, and preventive maintenance schedules to support uninterrupted plant operations.
Operate, inspect, and maintain all air-conditioning (AC) and ventilation systems within the milling section and control rooms.
Carry out routine preventive maintenance on compressors, condensers, evaporators, blowers, and filters.
Monitor system performance and ensure optimal temperature and humidity levels as per equipment and operational requirements.
Diagnose faults in electrical and mechanical components of AC units and perform corrective maintenance promptly.
Replace or repair defective parts such as motors, belts, thermostats, or refrigerant lines.
Implement and monitor safety practices and ensure compliance with statutory and company safety standards.
Maintain proper records, logbooks, and reports of mill operations, downtime, and maintenance activities.
Ensure availability of critical spares and consumables in coordination with the stores and procurement teams.
Participate in periodic training to stay updated with the latest maintenance techniques and technologies.
