HALO mitigates human suffering caused by armed violence in some of the world's most vulnerable places by securing weapons and ammunition, collaborating with both state and community actors to curb the prevalence of armed violence. The HALO Trust initiated work in weapons and ammunition management (WAM) in 2011, starting in Côte d'Ivoire. Our scope has since expanded to 12 countries, including Nigeria, where we initiated operations in 2021. The WAM Directorate currently manages 17 contracts from institutional and private donors across two of HALO's Strategic Goals. To date, HALO's global WAM projects have successfully built and refurbished 344 armories and explosive storage facilities, marked and registered over 61,000 weapons, and trained nearly 1,500 national security force personnel in the safe storage and disposal of at-risk weapons and ammunition. This position offers an excellent opportunity to join and advance within the dynamic WAM Directorate, comprising technical specialists and project management professionals. **PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS ROLE REQUIRES FULL-TIME PRESENCE IN NIGERIA, AND REMOTE WORK IS NOT AN OPTION.** **About the Role:** HALO seeks to recruit a Weapons and Ammunition Management Project Manager (WAM PjM) to oversee and manage project activities in Nigeria. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in project management, preferably within high-security environments. The WAM PjM is responsible for daily management and delivery of project outcomes and serves as the primary contact for external stakeholder engagement. They must ensure contractual obligations are fulfilled and project activities are executed in the safest and most efficient manner, adhering to international standards, HALO's SOPs, regulations, policies, and Nigerian laws. The WAM PjM will be based in the HALO office/guest house in Abuja but will need to travel to other locations in Nigeria, including high-security areas in the North East. They will also be required to visit countries within the ECOWAS region to support broader West African initiatives.
