Job Summary

  • The accountant will be responsible for managing daily financial transactions, preparing reports, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Record daily financial transactions and reconcile accounts.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Handle accounts payable and receivable.
  • Monitor and manage cash flow and bank reconciliations.
  • Prepare and file tax returns in line with regulatory requirements.
  • Support budgeting and financial forecasting activities.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of all financial records.
  • Liaise with external auditors and regulatory bodies when required.
  • Provide timely financial reports to management for decision-making.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 2–3 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in an oil & gas or trading environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or Tally).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and integrity.
  • Knowledge of Nigerian tax laws and financial regulations is an advantage.
