Job Summary
- The accountant will be responsible for managing daily financial transactions, preparing reports, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Record daily financial transactions and reconcile accounts.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Handle accounts payable and receivable.
- Monitor and manage cash flow and bank reconciliations.
- Prepare and file tax returns in line with regulatory requirements.
- Support budgeting and financial forecasting activities.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of all financial records.
- Liaise with external auditors and regulatory bodies when required.
- Provide timely financial reports to management for decision-making.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 2–3 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in an oil & gas or trading environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or Tally).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and integrity.
- Knowledge of Nigerian tax laws and financial regulations is an advantage.
